Honey Carrot & Rosemary Herbal Hand Balm

Honey Carrot & Rosemary Herbal Hand Balm
I’ve been making a homemade herbal balm this week, mainly in the evenings when I’ve had a bit of spare time. Fresh carrots and rosemary, plus a good dollop of honey, are nourishing, moisturising and strengthening, and give the balm a lovely fresh scent.
It’s fairly quick and easy to make, but it took me quite a while to finish it as I made it in stages so that I could photograph each step. It’s for a herbal tutorial for the next edition of UK Handmade magazine.
Don’t miss the summer issue, out in June!

Love that book :) I’m going to use some of my lemon balm oil to make the lipbalm recipe :)

It’s very rich , so is best used as a hand or dry skin treatment. I’m also going to whip up a few body and face creams over the summer – will post the recipes here :)

You know Gilly you really should think about setting up a separate shop to sell these herbal goodies ;) if you need human guineapig *sticks up hand* lol

  6. Gilly Says:

I would like to one day, actually :) I’d like a little shop in Neals Yard selling organic herbal remedies, cupcakes and jewellery. *Dreams* Can you be my cupcake guineapig too? ;)

I agree with anna, you should set up a shop, I love natural products and would love to buy some of your wares!!
will look out for the tutorial :)

  8. Gilly Says:

Aw, thanks! :D Ooh, I’m feeling very tempted :) Will look into it, but I think it’s a bit soon to branch out from the jewellery, as you have to be certified and insured for quite a lot if you’re selling body products. One day in the future though! :)
Hope you enjoy the tutorial hon :D
